I remember my first transistor radio, a gift when I was a teen. I'd place the radio under my pillow and fall asleep to WLAC. Sunday nights were gospel nights, traditional black gospel and bible sales. Then I found a Ray Charles record of my parents. Without the black church there'd be no Race Music, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Funk, Jazz, no Prince, James Brown, Sam Cooke, or Michael Jackson.

And that's the Gospel Truth.
